2021 Bundestag Election: Federal Electoral Committee decides on complaints on 5 August 2021

WIESBADEN – At its meeting on 5 August, the Federal Electoral Committee will decide on complaints filed against Land electoral committees’ decisions. The Land electoral committees decided about approving or rejecting Land lists at their meetings of 30 July 2021. The meeting of the Federal Electoral Committee will be held in the German Bundestag building in Berlin, Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus (entrance at Adele-Schreiber-Krieger-Straße 1), room 3.101 (Anhörungssaal), on Thursday, 5 August 2021 at 10 a.m. As the meeting will be broadcast live at https://www.bundestag.de, its public nature will be ensured in view of the limitations imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The agents of the Land lists concerned and the Land returning officers in charge are invited by the Federal Returning Officer to attend the meeting. All those concerned who attend the meeting will be heard. The Federal Returning Officer will announce the decisions taken by the Federal Electoral Committee during the meeting.

Information about the individual complaints on which the Federal Electoral Committee is to decide will be published by the Federal Returning Officer in another press release.

Notes for media representatives:

Due to applicable infection control measures, there are limitations to the participation of media representatives. Please register with the press office of the Federal Returning Officer (e-mail: pressestelle@bundeswahlleiter.de) by 3 August 2021, 6 p.m. by indicating your surname, first name, date of birth, place of birth, phone number and name of the medium and attaching a photocopy of your press card. Registrations will be accepted or refused after the registration deadline has ended.

In addition, all media representatives always require valid press accreditation to enter the Bundestag buildings (www.bundestag.de/presse/akkreditierung).

Please note the required measures taken to ensure compliance with social distancing and hygiene standards. There is currently an obligation to wear a medical mouth-nose protection in the buildings and all rooms of the German Bundestag.
