2017 Bundestag Election: voter turnout by 2 p.m.

WIESBADEN/BERLIN – In today’s Bundestag election, 41.1 percent of all persons entitled to vote had cast their votes by 2 a.m. This figure does not include the votes of postal voters.

In cooperation with the Land returning officers, the Federal Returning Officer has determined this intermediate result for all of Germany on the basis of the voter turnout in selected polling stations.

In the last Bundestag election of 2013, the voter turnout by 2 a.m. had stood at 41.4 percent, while the total voter turnout had been 71.5 %.

The Federal Returning Officer calls on all those entitled to vote who have not yet cast their votes to exercise their right to vote. The polling stations are open until 6 p.m.
