Repeat of the 2021 Bundestag election: Federal Returning Officer thanks election workers in Berlin

WIESBADEN/BERLIN – The Federal Returning Officer, Ruth Brand, together with the Land Returning Officer of Berlin, Stephan Bröchler, visited electoral boards in the Berlin districts of Pankow and Mitte today. The Federal Returning Officer thanked the polling station volunteers present for their work, a thanks which was extended to all election workers assisting in today's repeat election, and wished everyone a smooth election day.

“The proper conduct of the election is only possible with the active support of the many election workers involved. In volunteering, you make a key contribution to strengthening and upholding our democracy. Your commitment and involvement in this repeat election cannot be taken for granted,” declared Federal Returning Officer Ruth Brand.

The electoral board organises and supervises the proper conduct of the election, explains the election regulations to citizens, where necessary, and counts the votes once the polling station has closed.
