2021 Bundestag Election: reduction in number of required supporting signatures

WIESBADEN – The amendment of the Federal Elections Act (Federal Law Gazette I, p. 1482) which was announced on 9 June 2021 reduces the number of supporting signatures required for Land lists and constituency nominations to one quarter in each case. This is due to the limitations imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the more difficult conditions for the 2021 Bundestag election. The amendment enters into force on 10 June 2021.
