2021 Bundestag Election: postal ballot letters should be sent in good time

WIESBADEN – “Postal ballot letters containing the completed ballot papers for the 2021 Bundestag Election must have been received by the competent authority on election day, i.e. next Sunday, 26 September 2021, by 6 p.m. at the latest. Only then can the vote be counted in the Bundestag election,” said Federal Returning Officer Georg Thiel.

It is also possible to hand in the postal ballot letter at the address indicated on the official return envelope. Every postal voter has to make sure that the postal ballot letter arrives in time at the electoral office. If a ballot letter is received after 6 p.m. on 26 September 2021, the vote will not be counted in the Bundestag election.
