2021 Bundestag Election: provisional result
WIESBADEN – On 27 September 2021 at 6:00 a.m., the Federal Returning Officer released the provisional result of the election to the 20th German Bundestag, which was held on 26 September 2021.
With voter turnout at 76.6 percent (2017: 76.2 percent), the parties have obtained the following shares in the total number of valid second votes cast:

The share of invalid second votes in the 2021 Bundestag Election is 0.9 % (2017: 1.0 %), the share of invalid first votes 1.1 % (2017: 1.2 %).
The Südschleswigscher Wählerverband (SSW) participates in the distribution of seats of the 20th German Bundestag as a party representing national minorities within the meaning of the Federal Elections Act. In accordance with Section 6 (3), second sentence, the five percent clause thus does not apply to the SSW.
Pursuant to Section 1 (1) of the Federal Elections Act and subject to deviations resulting from the calculation method laid down in Section 6 of the Federal Elections Act, the Bundestag consists of 598 members. The newly elected Bundestag will comprise 735 members (2017: 709 members), including 137 additional seats.
According to the official provisional election result, the parties listed below have received the following numbers of seats (including additional seats) in the 20th German Bundestag:

The final results of the 2021 Bundestag Election for the Federation, Länder and individual constituencies and the candidates elected in the constituencies and Länder according to the provisional result as well as the number of Land list seats per party are available on the Federal Returning Officer’s website.
The Federal Electoral Committee will presumably determine and announce the official final result of the 2021 Bundestag Election on Friday, 15 October 2021, at a public meeting in the German Bundestag in Berlin.
