2021 Bundestag Election: Federal Electoral Committee will determine final result on 15 October 2021

WIESBADEN/BERLIN – The Federal Electoral Committee will determine the final result of the election to the 20th German Bundestag of 26 September 2021 in accordance with Section 42 subsection 2 of the Federal Elections Act in conjunction with Section 78 of the Federal Electoral Regulations at its meeting on Friday, 15 October 2021.

The meeting will be held at 11 a.m. in the German Bundestag building in Berlin, Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus (entrance at Adele-Schreiber-Krieger-Straße 1), room 3.101 (Anhörungssaal).

As the meeting will be broadcast live at https://www.bundestag.de, its public nature will be ensured in view of the limitations imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As of the subsequent day, the recorded meeting can be retrieved at https://www.bundestag.de/mediathek.

Important information for media representatives:

Due to applicable infection control measures, there are limitations to the participation of media representatives. Please register with the press office of the Federal Returning Officer by 13 October 2021, 6 p.m. by indicating your surname, first name, date of birth, place of birth, phone number and name of the medium and attaching a photocopy of your press card, e-mail: pressestelle@bundeswahlleiter.de. Registrations will be accepted or refused after the registration deadline has ended.

In addition, all media representatives always require valid press accreditation to enter the Bundestag buildings (www.bundestag.de/presse/akkreditierung).

Please note the required measures taken to ensure compliance with social distancing and hygiene standards. There is currently an obligation to wear a medical mouth-nose protection in the buildings and all rooms of the German Bundestag.
